CGTalk - newbie query. pls help

I'm trying to divide two edges on a test model i'm working on, but things aren't going as expected.

At the edge sub object level of the editable poly, when I click divide and select the two edges I want to divide I get two new vertices but no new edges, at least none that I can see, which is what i want.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I'm not sure if this is what you want, but try this:

select the 2 edges
right-click and click on 'connect'
(or, if you don't have it in your quad-menu, it's also in the modify panel..)

are you on cable or dsl? if yes, there's no need to reinvent the wheel. go to 3dbuzz.com .. sign up.. goto the downloads section.. then grab the first 3dmax VTM ..and continue on thru . you DEFINITELY need to watch those.. as all will be answered :thumbsup:

oh and post on their forum as well. post questions etc. they love it when you post.. it helps them produce such great videos each month

This is my first post and i really wasn't expecting such fast replies.

I think I'm going to be visiting this place a whole lot more, hopefully with some more substantial problems for you guys to twist brains around. :thumbsup:
