Hey everyone here is a matte painting i have been working on off and on now for a couple months and I finally finished it yesterday.
It was the first matte painting that I started but I didnt want to finish it until I had a better understanding of matte painting and practice some more.
Crits are most welcome and I will post some close ups soon :)

Hey thanks for the replies guys! I am really glad you like the matte.
I did use some references for this peice , about 5 in total but I did change them up a lot and painted most of what you see there.
And I will post some close ups soon and the references, I just have to get them off my home computer :)
Cheers!

Nice Matte!!...and nice color...
Very lovely work. I think you should have finished it. Some photo elements integrated in those towers would have been great ;)

Good work! the thumb really a caught my eye. Some suggestions would be to add some lights to the buildings for flavor. Also some ships in the sky , one or two, and some red lights on the mountains as location lights for climbers. If those are lakes I see then you should add the sky reflection on top. They are way to matte right now.
