I modelled a pretty accurate character using NURMS and now i am trying to add last modelling touches. Wrinkles etc.
The character is a NURMS developed out of a simple cube.
What is my best strategy to give it detail.
Local displacement maps?

also.. if i am to give local maps, how can I assign local textures and control their exact placing: like in XSI the Texture support objects
yes you guessed I come from the Avid family and Im trying to familiarize with max modelling.

I suppose displacement could work yeah. Not that MAX's own displacement is neccessairly the coolest in the world. Using a 3rd party rendere can help on that though.

If you check out the Sub-D sticky-thread in this very forum you can find useful information on how to add localized detail to a poly-mesh.
