hi,

I am a fx artist.

I have been working in a small company from past one year.
I have done a lot of simulations for my company (film and ads).

but I find that "my personal works show my skill sets better" http://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/images/smilies/N_robot.gif

The works done at company are definately is of a bigger budget
and involves talents of many other good artists like animators, modelers, compositors etc.But my part in them is limited.

on the other hand my personal work is " low budget " and is a
" one man show "...but it covers all aspects of my capabilities,
and highlights only the simulations.

now the question is, if I should use my personal works in the reel
or the the work done at company, which is really speaking a 100 artists
work and released in the market already.

any help on this would be appriciatedhttp://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/images/smilies/boxedin.gif

I have examples of both work with a larger group and done by myself on my show reel. A while ago I saw a nice approach of using a key to indicate areas of focus for shots on a show reel. If you would like you can see how I've used this on my reel - which can be seen on my web site at: http://lizardlounge.com/html/demoreel.html

I think at the end of the day what matters is to show the best work possible that you have worked on.

I would agree with Meesto. Show your best work, regardless of where it was completed. If you have work on your reel that others have contributed to, be sure to note that accordingly.
