View Full Version : First Model: MP5 WIP
JonasNoell 02-09-2003, 11:52 AM Hello everyone I liked to share my very first model with you! I just started using Lightwave and try to make some kind of realistic looking weapon. When modelling has finished I'll try to begin with texture and stuff.
By the way: It should become an MP5 with some special gimmics like a scope and such ;)
Comments and critics are welcome. I will keep you updated if you are interested ;)

It looks good, excellent even considering that it's your first model.
I can't really say how accurate it is to the real thing since I've seen an mp5, but the details you've added already give it a real "professional" look. Keep it up

Hey temporal ;)
Thanks for the nice critic, posts like yours always keep motivating me and it's cool to have some positive feedback ;)
Well actually it isn't my first model but my second. The first one was some kind of floppy disk model to learn the technic a bit. But this one is my first without tutorial ;)
I will keep you updated.
Thanks in advice

Hello again
I posted a toppic in the texture section that is about a question with texturing, perhaps anyone could help?

Hey, if you want support, you'll get it from me; it looks great to me.

hey, is it just for practice or will you export it to CS, UT or something? Really looking good. Could you apply some temporary basic materials so that we can judge it better?
keep on working.

Wohooo some replies! :bounce:
Hellwolve: Thanks for the great offer, since I am very new to lightwave I could need some support! Do you have ICQ, email or something? I could need some help! Can you give me some tips for unwrapping? I opened a toppic in the Texture Section where I described some of my problems. But I also have problems to unwrap the whole thing propperly... ;(
strogoff: Well my dream is to do some kind of shortfilm with some special forces storming a house or something, so I thought it would be a good start do beginn with the weapons the guys will have, since this will be the easiest step for beginning ;)
The won't be used in CS or UT, simply because the polycount is way too high ;)
I will go for texturework, soon, but first I'll have to try out how the whole thing works.
Thanks in advice for further comments

I knew I used the wrong word...
Let me explain. You wanted replies, you wanted people to responf, to show they care. E.g.: support.
Well, that's why I used "support" instead of "comments"
I can't do anything in Lightwave. Sorry for getting your hopes up. :hmm:
