View Full Version : Still Image:Self Portrait
jjburton 02-09-2003, 07:09 AM This is my first attempt at modeling in Maya. I'm a LWer that goes to a Maya school. The assignment was to do my head and compose a high quality still with good composition. I'm still tweaking it a bit, but would definately welcome some feedback. Currently I don't have a bump, only color and specular maps, so that'll probably help a bit. Thanks ahead of time:D

Looking pretty cool so far - as you say, the main things you need to add to it is proper skin texture then all the diffuse and bump maps that go with it. Proportions seem about right and the facial features look how you would expect them to look without any pinching or weird deformities. Cheek bones seem a wee bit low? I think that's the only thing I can see that I can really comment on.
Skin texture is always a bit of a bugger getting right - you can sit there for days tweaking and poking around a bit, or you could "cheat" and just take a photo and use the old clone tool in photoshop to paint over your mesh.
