...and when bumpmapping? Or should I use both? What is with displacementmapping?
I am asking, because I running confused. I try to get a quite as good result from Zbrushrendering in MAX, but therefor I must use one or more of these mappings? Can somebody give me a hint! PLEASE!
I just need it for renderings. No realtimemodel.
THANKS FOR HELPING!

sometimes your mesh will be to detailed, to put it all in a displcement map, it will just need a to high of a subdivision level in zbrush, sometimes also in max, specially when youll render with gi etc.

so best you could do is zbrush the things to subdiv level 5, 6 max.. make small detailed in zbrush in 2d mode, brush up a 2d bump map, ad that in max to, and sometimes you could even just make a displacement map from the base mesh to division 3, for the big shapes.

than do 3 to 6 with normal mapping, in phoothsop brush away the things you dont need in the normal do, caus sometimes it wil want to make the curve of the lowe, well youll see..

but why using 3 at the same time? well , if you want to do animation with it, it can reduce render times a lot.
