Hello Everybody!
I would like to show you a shot I`ve done for the film "Kraken -Tentacles of the Deep" /for Sci-Fi/ ; director Tibor Takács. The VFX work was done here at "Worldwide-FX"
This is the closing shot of the film. It`s 1211 frames. I did everything on the shot except the compositing. That includes: Tracking - I used Realviz Matchmover, it was a little hard to do , because of the lenght of the scan and the underwater quality ; Modelling of the squids - Lightwave3D. The shading and the textures was the hard part. I made sub-surface scattering shader; a little big for these little creatures texture.. I think it was something about 4k resolution; and after that animated the translucency, luminosity and the little dots appearing over the skin of the creatures. The animation and the rigging was not a big deal - it has procedural animation for the wings. I only keyframe animated the tentacles. The lighting and rendering was done in several passes /sss, mainlight, occlusion, specular, diffuse / for better control in post.
Any C&C are more then welcome!
