View Full Version : How to Make Scanlines? Any good tutorials?

I've got a dilema with a project I'm working on. I have to mask out a snowy tv and need to add in footage. Is there any way (filter or otherwise) that will simulate a scanline effect.

The idea is to simulate an old television shown on camera and to match up with the light being generated by the existing scanlines on the tv edges.

If anyone can help that would be fantastic.

Try Venetian Blinds and set a low width value, it's under transitions.

though this one works, i will throw in another solution...

im using "grid" for this. with pretty high vertical values and horizontal adjusted to taste...

doesn't AE 7.0 ship with a few different "old television" video presets built-in? those would be good starting points, and you could change things up a little to suit what you need.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I do have need for some reference if anyone has some. And as for "old television" video presests, they dont seem to be obvious or under any type of filter.
