Hello...it has been a while since I have made any postings on cgtalk. I have been very busy getting Shiver Studios up and running...and trying to keep it running!
I just thought I would share some self-promotional work on which Damon Zaphiriou (lead artist and photographer) and I have been working. It is still very much in development, but we are pleased with the progress being made. We both came up with the idea from a small Halloween miniature decorative set he had on his book shelf and the photographs we took of it. We enjoyed the images so much we decided to work on a larger project. Here is a picture of the tiny set which spawned this idea:

As you can see...the images are fun and interesting to view. So thus began D.B. Wirey.
We rifled through several different ideas and finally came up with a "mad scientist" themed project. There is a huge story we are building which drives the project. Below are a few pictures of the project during construction and progression. You can read more on the company's blog at www.shiverstudios.com (http://shiverstudios.com/blog/index.php)

Our plans for the project are to complete the set design, sculpt the main character (we already have the wired rig for him complete), create multiple hands and eyelid sets for him, develop the "failed" experiment and sculpt it, then to develop the "working" experimental creature and build it in 3DSmax and ZBrush. We will then light the set with real lighting, add real fog and dry ice fog, and begin photographing our brains out. At that point, we will take our images into photoshop and create HDR photos to start adding and editing electrical lights such as Jacob's ladders and the such...then we are going to have some large prints made of the final images.
We hope people will enjoy our work, although ultimately we are doing this project for ourselves and as a release to all that artistic explosion which has been building up in our selves.
Have a great day and remember to check the blog for more updates: www.shiverstudios.com/blog/index.php (http://www.shiverstudios.com/blog/index.php)
