Dear fellow users, I would like to seek advice about how to grow out a tree from a ground in XSI. First the trunk comes out, then big branches, then little branches, and then the leaves. Some branches should even fold themselves into a knot. I came up with an idea to build the end-look of the tree then select vertex-groups to clusters, then blend them into the object step-by-step, going back in the stages of growing to the start. Texture would be procedural, so deformed UV-s will not lead to new problem.
However, I would love to hear about some other methods which could lead to a less work-intensive producting, a useful script or some good tricks in a case like this.
Thank you for the help, sorry for my bad english, its not my native language.
Regards.

I recommend the Growing a Flower - tutorial by Adam Sale:
joncrow (http://joncrow.com/)

I have done a Tree using this technique. it's just a little test:

I really wish there was something like this for XSI...you can use it for quite a bit...
