View Full Version : Two windows, one painting?
Cooperphile 11-09-2006, 05:12 PM Using Painter IX.5, is it possible to paint on one painting in two windows at once like Bobby Chiu does with Photoshop in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAn-YRCezQM)? I figure it isn't since I can't find a way in the help, but if somebody knows a way, I'd appreciate knowing about it.
Thanks!

Well, since you're "King of the Future," why not just make it so? ;)

File > Clone
Just doesn't update in real time, you'll have to click the 2nd window to refresh. Defeats the purpose I know but might be handy if you have the patience to hotkey switching windows, 'cuz you can have different zooms between the two.

great idea .. Im glad you brought it up. The Cloned image works fine, would be nice if it did update on the fly but clicking on it is fine. Atleast the extra window isnt slowing the brush strokes. good one!
Can you teach me how I can do that in Photoshop please?? I really don't know. Sorry because I asked at here.

This may be slightly different in Photoshop CS, but in Photoshop 7 open your image, then use:
Window > Documents > New Window
Now you have a copy of your working image that automatically updates as you work.
you mean navigator don't you?? Cause I can't find what you showed in your post. In addition, navigator can't show perfectly. There is too much alias on the picture which showed on navigator window ^^
