View Full Version : GeForce3 Ti200 in Maya
goosh 03-21-2002, 10:46 PM Hi
I was wondering if anybody was using a GeForce3 Ti 200 in Maya
from Alias Wave front they say that it's not a good idea.. but I find that they sometimes cover themselves a lot so that they don't have problems later on
Anybody out there using it?
Thanks
Goosh

Hi,
I was using the Elsa Gloria quatro2 pro until about a week ago and i've got to say that it was a piece of shit, and consequently that one was endorsed by a/w. For some reason it was sucking up ALL of the cpu. So bad that it would take 6 minutes to do a simple Levels function in photoshop. And it took 5 hours to render something that only took 25 minutes at home. :annoyed:
SOOOO, we went down to the store and picked up a trusty GeForce3 Ti200 for about $250 as apposed to the $600 for the other one. I've got to tell you, this grafix card is very smooth for its price, I'm running with the same thing at home and have been for months and have had zero problems. I don't know why its not supported by A/W. I think they get kick backs for endorsing certain components regardless of how good it works. It's a corrupt system I know... but what are you gonna do?:wip:
