Hi Guys
Just wanted people thoughts on the use of HDRI's in your visualisations? im quite new to the 3d thing and alot of people are telling me that HDRI's are the future, is this true?
i created this image attached using a hdri tutorial online.
It was made and rendered in cinema4d using a free hdri i found on the net. Its basic but from my understanding of hdri it is showing the use of them correctly?
comments please?

I don't know if it's a future, but hdri creates environment that no actually exists in your scene. Also low-res version may be used for lighting.
Nine inch nails has a videoclip named "Only", where hdri is used, worth watching.
Well, I don't know good and bad sides of hdri, but I'm sure that hdri is not the only and best way to light. I would lke to hear from others what they think about hdri too.

Technically, HDRI just means High Dynamic Range Image. It doesn't necessarily mean you use it for lighting your scene.

I just tested hdri in v-ray, and it's pretty fast!
I think you can use hdri as a fill light, but with a key light anyway.
Hdri provides more rich lighting than just a uniform skylight.
