hi all,

I tried doing a search about couldn't come up with anything, not sure what to search for really. But i was wondering how could you use the surface normal information in rpf/rla files?? I was just reading about walker effects channel lighting that uses normal information, and started to see how the normal info might not be as useless as i first thought. So, does anybody use the surface normal info in rpf/rla files? If so, what sort of situation or effect would you want to use it for?

Thanks for checking the thread,
raimy

It doesn't. It just assumes that each color channel represents the intensity of one of 3 lights.

Only a few plugins can use it, including ZBornToy by Taron and Normality and Reality by Stefan Minning. It is used to apply pseudo-3D lighting to pre-rendered 3D footage as a post process.
