View Full Version : Changing Environment Color (IBL)
PDuff 11-07-2006, 07:39 PM I'm not sure if this is impossible or if I just haven't looked hard enough, but is it possible to render a different environment color in my camera attributes (Maya 7) when there is an IBL node in the scene? Everytime I try my background is always black.

I have experienced the same thing. I figured out a work around. Create a plane and place it behind whatever it is your rendering. Assign a lambert shader to it. change the color of the lambert to whatever color you want your background to be. The color on the plane will show up in any shiny surfaces. If you don't want this to happen, select the plane, open the attribute editor (ctrl-a), uncheck Casts Shadows, Receive Shadows, Visible In Reflections, Visible in Refractions. That's it.
