nice job... but i think you need good GUI for controling the face...
i did jason osapia style :

Well done too! I try to do GUI control... -) Thank you, masterbubu!
Both look like they are deforming the faces very well.
masterbubu: Personaly I have never really liked that floating UI system as it takes up way to much screen space. If it could be put in a floating window that could be moved to another monitor that makes it much better. Max 9 makes that even better with all the new controls that can be used via the .net frame work.
eov: Looks like you have a good handle on the system that I set up and you have done a great job of skinning the character to the rig. You really need to add a pose capture system as well how ever and this can be done through my PEN Attribute holder.
My only problem with your rig is that it is my rig that you are selling as your own, I know this was the point of the DVD's but you really should try and come up with your own rig based on the methods and tools that I show on the DVD's. This isn't because it bothers me but it would look better on you. Showing that you can have your own ideas on how to solve problems looks good on you when looking for a job as a character TD, if all you show are methods that have been layed out on some one elses DVD then the person hiring you might think that is all that you can do. If you show unique ideas and systems then it shows you can solve new proplems.
Case in point for this was a feature film that I was on where the senior TD was quoting to us how to rig characters. It all sounded very familiar and scripted and he didn't really sound like he understood what he was saying. As it turns out the only character rigging that he had done was after having done a couple of Master Class DVDs from Alias. The rest of the team had better ideas for solving the issues but he wouldn't allow them because they were not in the DVD's and therefor he didn't understand them. He didn't last long on the project and we got to build the rig they way that they should have been build.
Now with that all said it does look very good what you have done but give creadit where the method came from like I do with Jason Osipas blended target system. I have been doing something similar for years but the blended targets with the floating UI system is really some thing that Jason championed in the book Stop Staring. No one else can really say, look at the great idea that I came up with, after reading Jasons book.
I'm not trying to say hey don't show that, it's my idea, as it is a culmination of many ideas that have been shared for years.
Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing some animations done with the system.

hey paul..
i started learning computer science so i didnt had the time to explore max9...
i hope the c++ and high math will improve me scripting skills.
anyway...
you mean that in max 9 i can create float UI like i did and move it to another
monitor? or i need to create something completely different?
Hi, PaulNeale!
I learned yours DVD about faceial rigging. I find out a lot of unexpected decisions, for example leadsand eyebrowes. Very interesting way of rigging!
Earlier (before your DVD), I replace “stretchy bones” by a some dummy objects without bones. It has freezed transform and scripted by wire parameters. And I had the same result like you had had. I recorded a video about. You can see it over here: http://www.keyframe.ru/video/str_skin.avi (size 1,6 mb. codec - DivX5.02)
I also had other way for stretchy skin. Other way have consisted in use only bones. Bones went from the center to out of the character’s head.
(View the picture below).
I rather for a long time use a lot of scriptes in the work, including your scripts (from your site) especially PEN_Attribute_Holder. They are really save time and very useful. After viewing your DVD I have learned about utility of such scripts as"M" Group, PEN_Rigging_Utils and Control Objects! Very useful scriptes! I also added them in my arsenal! =)
Now I work above the animation story about the Blue Alien. It’s non commercial product. I do it in due time, after work, at my home. As a hobby. Certainly, as I use your scripts and your knowledge in my work, your name will be on the first page of credits.
I ‘m going to finish work above an animation film by 12.28.06. Welcome to my home site to see the story.
P.S.
I never appropriated another's ideas and achievements. Having looked yours DVD I only have lifted own skill and experience. I mean, any experience is got for it’s realization (sale) in the future as a special knowledge. A lot of people with your DVD, lift up they skills. They will sell skills in the future too.
