Kralle 02-08-2003, 05:52 AM hey,
the guy whos making an online game called Exodus said he likes my aliens head, so he said if i come up with something great he'll put my space ship into the game. (( pm me if you want to know more aobut the game, playing it will be free once released ))
Anyways, here it is,
i want to add some sort of gun(s) but i dont really know where and how since everything is in a curve.

Its suffering from Star Wars smooth syndrome. What I mean is, it looks like you've box modelled something, and then hit smooth. But in doing so I think you are more or less destroying the structure of the ship itself. So you can do three things, junk the geometry smoothing and rely on face smoothing, add more geometry around the creases so they so up as harder in the smoothed version, or change the weights of the edges that should be harder so you get more variation.

hmm ok, ill do that if you translate that into Newbie for me! :bounce:
And im using Wings 3D,
someone else already told me to make edges, but im not really sure how

Okay, well I have no idea how to do it in Wings. So, what you could do, where there should be a harder crease, simply add more edges above and below it so you have an edge that looks something like this | | |. That will simply mean there is less space for the smooth calculation to average, so you get a harder edge. Ofcourse, that increases Geometry.
So, look for some help files for Wings 3D relating to edge weights, or weighted smoothness, or just looking through all the smooth help files. I am sure its there.
