View Full Version : Bubble Help R10
Newstream 11-06-2006, 11:20 AM Hi,
Even though Bubble Help is activated in the preferences in R10, it doesn't seem to take effect when the cursor hovers over a button in the UI like it does in R9.
Anyone else having the same issue is it it just me?
Cheers / Alex

Similar, but opposite here - I've got it disabled, but sometimes them darn bubbles pop up anyway. It seems to be slightly glitchy one way or the other...

Thanks for the input James.
How about hitting the "U" key in R10?
Unlike R9, I find that the pop-up menu flickers madly while holding down the "U"-key or disappears instantly upon release making it hard to catch what was actually on the menu.

Hi, Alex.
You should just 'tap' the U key instead of holding it down, and don't move the mouse.
That should give you time to learn the extra menu keys.:)
No problem with disabled bubbles.
(Mac OSX)

didn't know about the 'U' key tap.. thanks - very handy when you are using a Wacom pen
I notice that in the layout Janine P. kindly posted for r10 a while ago, she has the Status (?) line at the top of the screen just to the right of the main menu - it's a great idea (particularly for me working on a Cintiq screen/tablet thingy) and seems more useful than the real tooltip system as everything gets guidance there, whereas Tooltips are selective in the Icons they show on.

you will have bubble help on any collapsed managers regardless of whether its on or off, that should be the only case, least the only one I can think of.
Not sure why it isn't showing up for someone, might possibly need to restart cinema?
Oh and bubble help has its other uses, when you mouse over tags it shows the name of the tag

Thanks for all the replies guys.
Its working now but don't ask my how. After doing a bit of modelling, restarting the app a couple times, something must have clicked deep inside the bowels of C4D.
All I know is that it now works and is smooth as silk.
Phew.. another happy ending.:)
Cheers / Alex
