Hi, Just wondering,

In Maya, I have a model thats currently weighted to bones etc. and skinned. I'm making a facial rig and I want to duplicate off my original model to create these blend shapes. On this new duplicated blend shape is it possible to delete all the rest of the polys that are not being affected by the blend, or is this going to be causing any problems later?

point order is very important so yes problems can and likely will occur. Check out this handy plugin though http://www.cometdigital.com/cSmartBlend.php

ok so I seemed to have just discovered that you can edit the membership of your blendshapes. I guess thats fine for me for now, I wonder if I can delete the parts that arent within the membership and not have anything break. I"ll check out your tool though, thanks for the pointers!
