Hi guys...I was just wondering does any of you know where i can find info about Anisotropic surfaces(i.e. water reflections) in general or anisotropic surfaces in Maya(not the help files:P).I am doin a research and i cant find anything!!I would really appreciate your help guys..thanks!

Part of the problem may be your understanding of the concept. Water should never have any anisotropic reflection, you might be thinking of fresnel effects. Anisotropic effects would only show up in water if you somehow scratched up the water surface.

Yup, such as waves in the water. Could you clarify exactly the sort of effect you're after, maybe a reference image?

Thanks for the help guys...Unfortunately i dont have reference images but from what i ve researched so far i understand that when water has riples and its reflecting objects then the reflections of these objects would look kinda blurred. The water then is anisotropic surface isn't it?Thats what i am trying to simulate..i know how to do it, i just dont know how to justify it, u know, technical details that support my argument(if its right?).thanks
