Title: Little Naught Faerie
Name: Sandra Chang-Adair
Country: USA
Software: Painter

I drew this direcly onto my Wacom Cintiq Tablet instead of scanning in a drawing. I was inspired by Linda Bergkvist's Master/Slave painting. I wanted to create something very beautiful but also funny in a subtle way. The model is based on Veronika, "the Perfect Muse". I tried to use a variety of texture brushes for the background. I am trying to get away from the airbrushy look of Photshop and I think this painting looks as if it was done in traditional oils.

Great work Sandra, mainly with colors. I just think some areas should have a more subtle blend between colors, like on shadows under her right arm. Her left hand and foots are a bit strange to me. Maybe you could start a sketchbook on Sketchbooks forum to improve these kind of details.
In general, it's pretty well done. Congrats.

Very cool. Very different too, the cigar is a great touch.

Now that's how I want faires to look like, you brought some freshness to a subject matter that was overdone. Great work.

Thanks for the nice words. I painted this before taking wushu, so I was used to just painting hands and feet on women without any regard for grace or size for that matter. After attempting to learn to be graceful (which is hard since I missed out on the whole dance thing while growing up), I'm definitely trying to pay more attention to the beauty of hands and feet!

Absolutely cool pose! Smoking big cigars in this enchanted place makes me laugh. Very well done and :applause: for this creative concept. :) Britta
