I loved Pinky and the Brain. I thought it was one of the good modern cartoons. It was always intelligent. Great job it looks like pinky. I can't wait to see some eyes in there and good textures. I think the hands and feet could use a bit more work, but it's up to you. Great job :thumbsup:

Thanks for the kind words! As for the hands and feet - the reference pictures I'm using are a bit teeny. Do you happen to remember how many fingers and toes Pinky has?

And, this cartoon spawned one of the two funniest lines every uttered on TV.

Brain:"Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Pinky?"
Pinky:"I think so, Brain. But where are we going to find goats at this time of night?" :bounce:

no man sorry. I don't have a clue how many fingers he had :) The feet are modeled correctly, just maybe a bit more detail. I think the hands just need more detail and maybe the tail too. Keep goin!

Well, I took a close look at one of the shots I've got, and it looks like there's three toes there. (Anal retentiveness - it's not just a lifestyle, it's an adventure! :applause: ) Redid the feet with a little more detail and one more toe. I'm not sure how I'm gonna texture him yet, but I'm leaning toward using maps for the detail and cel-shading him. I'll post as I go.

The fingers look like they can be moved over a bit, but otherwise this model is perfect :D It looks just like him. I can't wait to see how you do the Brain.

Real nice Start. From the images I've seen Pinky has 3 fingers and one thumb.

Temporal - Yeah, the days of sitting on the sofa and laughing at the antics of Pinky and the Brain.... ahhh... Last week was good! (working from home good! :buttrock: )

slaughters - Thank you for the references! I have the Pinky one - albeit at a lower resolution - but Brain got lost in the shuffle somewhere. Glad to have him back.

Anywho, making some tweaks to the hands now - hoping to have both these guys done before monday morning, but really not putting any money on it. Thanks for the kind words and advice, and I'll keep posting as I go!

First of all the model looks great. seconfd of all the hands look like they are backwards to me. you might want to fix that part. But the model still looks great can;t wait to see brain.

Thanks guys! I'm still working on the hands. I agree - there's something about them that just doesn't look right. Will post as I make more progress - hoping to have Brain done by tomorrow night.

Cool model, but the arms seem odd(little flat I think) and the connection of tail also looks funny.

Re-did the hands. Ithink they're better off this way... Also, I adjusted the thickness of the arms, but it looked a little weird, so I may just rotate the hands as a whole at the wrist and see if that fixes the issue. I also tried to add a bit of a noodge where the tail meets Pinky's butt. Here's a quick rerender. More C&C would be greatly appreciated. I'm working on Brain right now - not terribly happy with it, so I'll post after I do some more noodling on the shape.

first of all the hands looks great. but i do agree with you, the arm to look kind of wired. I think it is the elbows , they are coming out the side of the arms. I think it should come out in the back of the arms. but the model is coming along very good. :applause:

Update - Brain's head. I'm not happy right now with the eyes and ears specifically, but some C&C on the overall shape would be great. Gotta finish Brain, tweak the last of Pinky's problems, rig, surface and render these guys. I might just actually make my self-imposed deadline on this one!

Hello again! You've done a lot since I last checked back here:) Great job on finishing pinky up. Brain looks great too but I think his forehead extends too far out and covers his eyes more than it should. I always thought brain had pretty big eyes that weren't set that far back but maybe I'm wrong. You're almost there just keep goin! It's looking great. :beer:

Oh one more thing, maybe make the ears more cupped? They're so flatI think it would look better if they were more bowlish. But you the dude so do what you want! rock on :buttrock:

Thanks guys! Yeah, something about Brain's face isn't really sitting right... Theta-Dot, I think you may be right about the forehead. There's something about the jowels that's bugging me right now, too. Anyway, I have to go out of town for a little over a week, but will keep working and post more when I get back.

Okay - got back last night, so this is the fruits of one morning's tweaking. I worked on Brain's face, mostly - lowered and rounded the bottoms of the eyes, added just a bit more pouch to the jowels. Let me know what everytbody thinks, please!

I'm gonna do some work on bowling out the ears this afternoon. Unfortunately, I let the mesh get a little messy around the ears, so it might take more time that it should. :shame: on me!
