View Full Version : pyrocluster render problems
brokenface 11-02-2006, 06:04 AM has anyone had any problems with pyrocluster not rendering particles correctly? more specifically, when i "render active view" i get a render that is what i want (the correct amount of particles). but when i go to render the sequence or even the current frame, i get a totally different image. the difference is basically about 100 particles in the active view and about 2 in the actual render.
if anyone has any input i would be very thankful. i have to get this render done tonight...one of those 11 hour changes.
thanks in advance

here is a little more detail, since no one is responding.
i am using 1 camera. pulling back away from an object that i rendered in a previous pass. the camera move has not changed. i turn off that object and get ready to render my pyrocluster pass. in the editor window of my camera 1 perspective view, i render to get a preview of what my frame should look like. it looks fine, hundreds of particles. then i click render current frame...it renders out only 2 particles.
the view i pre-rendered is the same exact view and same frame that i set to final render. but i get 2 very different images. no changes were made inbetween the pre-render and the final render. and my passes on the first object rendered successfully.
has anyone seen a problem like this?
my emitter is set fairly large, 1500 x 1500, with a birthrate of 500. and i set my max visible particles in pyrocluster to 2000 to see if that helped at all, it did not. my emitter is clearly generating all of the particles and they all render in the editor, but i cannot get an actual render with that same amount.
Are you aware that you can set different emitter rates for editor and final rendering?
Sounds like this is your problem here.

dear god its late here. thank you very much, Bjorn! i knew it was something way too simple for me to be conscious of. now i can set the render and sleep. :)
