CGTalk - render -r sw -h (syntax error)

Hi there :)

unfortunately I never used MEL a lot..
I have to render out a big image in render regions..
I was helped in the rendering forum..

But when I type:

render -r sw -h; or just render -h, render -r it gives me back a syntax error..
I found nothing different than these commands in the manual of maya..
Maybe someone has an idea what I'm doing wrong and can explain it to me..

Currently I use Maya 7 ..

Well there aren't any -r and -h flags in my documentation. The only flags I know of for render command are

-x, -y, -ngl, -nsh, -b, -kpi, -rep, -amt

maybe you want something like:
renderWindowCheckAndRenderRegion 0.5 0.0 0.0 0.5;

You could specify the -reg argument with the appropriate coordinate for each sub-region:

-reg int int int int Set sub-region pixel boundary of the final image:
left, right, bottom, top

I can't help you with your syntax problem. But, based on your post in the rendering forum I think you want a script like the one I have attatched to my post. I wrote it last night, I hope it helps.
