Done for my personal project. Pictures are looking nice, wish I had more time for it though. The idea is to make a full series of sketches like this, expect more to come. I'm going to do a lot more environments, characters and vehicles. Maybe you'll see it in a book in a few years ^_^

Array

he says its a sketch, ie. hand drawn. dont rely on software to do the work for you.

EDIT:

BTW, simply amazing work! my roommate's jaw litteraly dropped when i told him it was made by hand.

Thanks everyone...should have been more clear; when I said "sketch", I meant Photoshop sketch. That's my main software to use when drawing.

Having my work printed in an artbook is something of a little dream I've had. It might not be impossible, I need more images, some stuff from the web isn't enough. Imagine how cool it'd be to show someone your work in an artbook.

Unfortunately, I don't have the fullrez where I am at the moment.

ghZaaaRK> Pixel size is around 3000 wide something...
The image took quite a long time....I started out with an aspect of around 1:1.6 ...but it was too much to paint so I cropped it. The final image is actually only 50% of the initial sketch...that's why it took so much time...Yeah, I'm lazy bastard ^_^.

Jelo> Ask away...

Array> Hope he didn't hurt his jaw..

Thanks again.

Here I was thinking to myself, damn! I can't give him an award because its a pencil sketch, and we only award CG material, even if it was dragged through photoshop that would be fine. I should've known better :), I applaud you for you efforts in this piece, and I could see how it has taken the time it did.

However I'm a lil unsure of the scale you used, the lil huts are they supposed to be very small in comparison to the humans? I attached a level adjusted pic to show you what I mean...

Nevertheless a stunning realization yet again.

Hey Henrik, i am not too often in this list but saw your work and it is excelent.

By the way, i want to add a critic in a constructive way; nobody is asking about the important concepts behind, how you planned the job, how do you motivate to paint that and not something else, nobody is criticizing/scrutining/analyzing your work, in definitive, nobody is learning.

May sound rude but it is a constant, and it is bad for everybody, specially for the artist that posts the image as you get no real reward from your generosity, just a bigger ego which is the last thing you want.

I know you personally, you are an *extremely* talented artist and you have to have feedback, otherwise the learning process would be slower and probably solitare.

So i say, let's really comment the work and do not post things like "wow, nice picture", WE ALL KNOW IT IS A NICE PICTURE.
jordibares

PS. And to start, i want to ask about how do you plan the depth and scale of the image, it is just from top of your mind? if so, any references?

Also, Don't you think there would be more depth and movement if you use the shadow of the clouds in a more aggressive way?
