View Full Version : Dropper trouble, need help
gedee 11-01-2006, 07:52 PM Dear painters,
I use PainterIX.5 . I have a serious problem:
For some reason if i try to select color with the dropper on certain layers i get white and not the color that i see. Strange thing is that it only acts like this on maybe 2 layers out of 10.
Is this a bug or did i hit something by accident?
I am on a job, so if anyone knows the answer i would very greatfull if someone could help me!
Thanks,
Regards,
Geert

Can you be more specific. Does this happen on regular layers or digital watercolor layers.
Also is your perserve transparacy on? I had my share of layer problems in Painter , but usually when they were grouped.
Now I tend to stick to no more then 2 layers

Thats really odd, I just had the very same problem for the first time today. It happened on every layer except the canvas. As I said, this is the first time Ive experienced this.
I'm curious if anyone knows the issue. I never did get it resolved.

Hi,
I don't know the cause of this problem, but here's something you might try:
1. Use File > Clone to make an exact, flattened copy of your working image.
2. Then pick colors from the Clone instead of from your Layers.
Note that whatever is visible when you make the Clone, as well as the Canvas whether or not it's Eye icon is open, will be included in the Clone image. This means that if you want to pick color from a Layer that's below other color on another Layer, just close the upper Layer's Eye icon before making the Clone.
Obviously this is not the answer you were looking for but maybe it'll get you by until you find the real solution.
Good luck!
