blanks: thanks mate, best of luck to you too. :)
beelow: yeah of course it can be done, i always intended to make a trailer and now that i started it, it would be a joke not make a hipolyscene of it as well. only thing i hope is that time will be kind and i can keep up my own timeline.
DaVee: thanks mate :) posted the first coloring step, next one should be done later toninight, once the composition works, speedmodelling starts :) lets find out if i can keep up that speed ^^

SweD: hahaha yep me here^^ couldnt resist ^^ glad you like the baseconcept, started on the first few polys. much to tweak but at least this section gets moving :) have fun too old friend ^^
Nothingness: thanks mate :)
Knowledge: thanks a lot. I painted this in photoshop cs2 on a wacom cintiq 21ux.
Johnnymaster: hahaha lol yeah. you might start your butt off talking bout the skin when i start suffering with the whacky sss, cuz my machine royally sux. jeez, love how you do your shaders man, so, compliment back to you too^^ let it rock!
PMD: thanks a lot. well i consider to finish the sketch eventually to add it to my portfolio, either way for a rough base for a 3d scene its fuliling its purpose for me ^^ glad ya like it Phil!
Soapy: :) thanks and best of luck to you too mate!
HowieFarkes: thanks man!
Nwiz: hahaha thanks a lot. notices you are probably actual most active in cheering, much appreciated mate, glad you like the start

Highbred3d: thanks a lot! i just started ad threw the first polys :)
AMZ23: well yeah, matrix has tunnels too but read the book, first its great second you might get tons of scenes into your mind - this was where i thought i stick with it with a 3d scene :)
Krrrk: thanks man. just started, working on it
DaVeeee: hahaha thankeees. same goes back ^^
Zapan: lol, old nuts, hahahah you got a good chance you won't have to, if anyways so, i'll return that on you and spam you as long as you'll trow your polys to cgtalk ol nuts! rofl :scream:
OK, all c&c most welcome. spent an hour on the character after a long working day. some might be off and to fix. basically what wont be visable will sty low in details, main volumes will be tweaked and some parts refined in zbrush. so later here some more modelling, thanks all for the encouragements, best of luck to you all and keep on rocking :buttrock:

The model is good for this stage, so dont worry your buttcheeks about it :D
if you think the neck is too long, then shorten it. but at this stage i dont think many people are noticing it. i only did once i concentrated hard x3

took in account mehmi's constructive crit tried fixing neck and shoulderarea :). well webdesign is exhausting, ble didnt make it to work much. just a quick shadertest, but as long as the maps atentn't made the shader wont look perfect anyways. i plan finish the model tomorrow so i can start the it up to zbrush fun :)
any c&c of course most welcome,

DrIvErD: thanks mate. well 3d in this case gets less fast than usual since i work on my emergency setup :p glad you like the progress anyways :)
Gunilla: hehe thanks. yep, i am in all 3 sections, hope i will finish em all in time :) best of luck to you too
Mehmi: thank you so much, thats what i needed. i am very thankful for the constructive crits, usually when i work fast, i oversee things and see them after posting them or skip things i should have seen myself ^^ thanks for the tip, hope the fixing worked.
going to review the shole anatomy tomorrow with a freah pair of eyes :)

very nice dude and above all very fast! As i can see, we have the same work time hehehe. Okay, now to the crits...first of all, i think her body is a bit to masculine due the shoulder and the hip, if you try to cover her arms completely by your fingers, she (her shoulder) will looks very feminine, then maybe try to scale her hips up.... then i think she'll looks a lot more female and sexier!
But altogehter great work in such amount of time! Hope could give some tips...good luck further on mate!

One question. Why model her nude? Do you plan on having her show lots of skin? Not a complaint as I wouldn't mind seeing her this way. :D

mehmi: thx, going to fix her neck now. :) wanted to get the layout done so i got a setup i can go with.
johnnymaster: thanks for your points, got em on my to-fix-list :) thanks a lot and best of luck to you too!
Tony: thanks mate :) yup, in an hour or 2, zbrush starts. unwrapping is part of te 3d wich i find annoying :p so zbrush is what you get for it. hehe, on with the fun :)
OZ: thanks a lot mate! well its just an ultraquick lowres map i painted to see how the model works. :) glad you liked the test. next update in a few hours, goin to finish the modeling now and zbrush her up to where she's supposed to be. ble, not looking forward to the unwrapping and even lesss to the riging, both parts of the work i don't like, dunno whats worse ^^
black_hand_77: thanks a lot mate, glad you like the rough model. hope you'll like the hires still as well :)
Jedi-Juice: simple answer. i usually start with the nude model. not sure it will need clothsim this time since the animation will be very short. but in the trailer she'll have a longer apearance and i wanted to go for the complete progress. thou, since i lack of machinepower at the moment, i'll probably simplify the workflow and see whats going to be required to make her look good. :)
thanks all for the nice words and construtive crits, on with the fun, back here shortly with the modellingupdate :) keep on rocking mates!

another quick update, almost forgot to post it ^^ here's the finished basemodel before it goes to zbrush. tons of little tweaks made, finished ears and other minor details, made her wider hips, and a nice round latina butt :) the map as said earlier is just a lowres bitmap that will get repainted now hires with all the other maps such as specualr, bumb, and so on... here's the girl, Patricia Luisa Vasquez in her first version :) hope you like her :) all c&c most welcome as usual

11-12-2006, 07:09 AM
AndreiSzasz: thanks mate. i found the 3d previz very important to make since this clearly shows me what will be visable in the final shot and where i can save time and polys to put them in a place where the are seen... basic attemp also to get fast rendersettings with the volumetrics (actually a bit under 2 mins at the moment) so the 3d sketch is making much sense for me to do. glad you like the sketch so far... :)
kmest: lol more girls??? maybe i'll place a sexy pilor somewhere in one of the spaceships flying by specially for you - tho, patricia is the mainactress here and the place where i'll model more girls probably will be my trailer :) now on with the fun, zbrush action after sleep ^^

gpepper: really? ^^ well i make 3d since a few years already and work as modeller and conceptartist since a while already :) basically i just try to do what i usually do but save many many resources for last since i work on my emergency setup, a p3 1ghz with 512 mb ram :( tons of problems to keep it short "what can i do to save resources, what else can i do to save resources ^^ :p glad my 3d work works for you :) thanks a lot for the encouragements!
thebest: hahaha lol. jup :) but i skipped it and jumped back on the environment so i see how much time is left since characters are the easiest part for me to do :)
Jedi-Juice: well not sure yet. 2 possebileties, zbrush clothes directly on her and add a few more details on the basemodel, or, go for a jumpsute that is clothfx. not decieded yet but the actual lingerie she wears is just painted to have it there :p dont worry, she'll get a full set of clothes incl. a pilotjacket.
gardogg: thanks a lot. simply wanted to get bak to a nice 3d project and i liked the topic a lot. so... after hacing made tons of sketches for a cinematic poster i started the trailerworks and when i stumbled over the final cutscene, i thought i should make that hipoly ^^ not too ambitious, just nust silly old me having had a stupid sleepstealing idea ^^
thanks all for the comments and crits, i'll go for mor work on patricia after a bit of sleep and a regular work day :) keep on rocking, cheers :buttrock::wip:

your "doll" model xD is looking good, better now. i have spotted one thing, her lower arms are larger than her upper arms. now im not that good at anatomy, but my upper arms are larger than my lower arms. either she's got really tiny bones, or not enough muscle/flab on the uppers ^^

gunnie: thank you so much :)
mehmi: tweaked, thanks for the review :)
makaron: thank you so much mona. yup, focalpoint on highest contrast makes that, my ambientlight is the tubelight and a set of softedged targetspots do the rest incl. 1 red pulsing effectlight. my minfocus was to create a fast easoily renderable lightsetup for the scene and i am happy it stays under 2 mins yet. :)
thebest: thanks a lot tony, glad you like it :)
beelow, will do, just checking. 1 pssebiety is to place the v/stol there, another is just place a buildings basement with some nice things like wires and trass/rig elements to have a nice silhuoette cutting the side, thou, a flyby on the spaceship may be a more thnakful result for an animatable result in focus :) prolly going to stick with the spaceshipidea
