Hi all... This is my second test attempt in brazil... trying to create some nice gi and all... any suggestions anyone???

cool, only the cone obj seems to be merged with the ground,

do u have any ides which is the best gi renderer for maya?

i think mental ray?? :S Don't really know any other.. and caustics plugin for maya rulez :) it's better than the brazil imo.


Btw idd that's whats wrong with the damn thing.. it's merged a bit with the ground.. thnx :)

While GI has become the new chrome sphere on checkerboard, it's always neat to see some.

The problem with the cone is that the bottom is an absolute hard edge with no chamfer. It is razor sharp against the floor.

What is your GI Shade Rate? The default is 15, but i use 55.

The render has a nice look to it, just not sure if the objects are chrome or glass. They look chrome to me, but what's the deal with the caustics? Transparent chrome? :)

No. i used multisubobject and made a material with 100% illumination and on the diffusemap an outputmap and gave the rgblevel 6. Very high that's why it's so intense. :)
