I bought 2 books for my Maya-study and just finished yesterday with this animation:

robotarm (http://www.deheerenjam.nl/~shadow/test/robotarm.avi)

It is a short movie (5sec. DivX), and is based upon what I learned in the book: Maya 2: Character Animation, chapter 9. If You look carefully you can see my problem in the begin of the movie. The textures don't move with the model. (they do in the texture-preview)
I skipped a few chapters because I have to complete 750frames of animation next week for a school-asignment, so I guess the problem lies there. But I don't have the time to read everything, because I've got to start with the schoolasignment.

Even if someone could tell me at what page i have to look for the sollution, that would be great.
I have the books: 'Maya 2: Character Animation' and 'Mastering Maya Complete'.

Thanks.

Ok, go to the rendering menu / texturing / create texture reference object.

or, parent the texture placement to the object ;)

that's it.
