i greatly disagree with the above. This is art and great work at that. The only thing i see as an issue is for the lack of better word, the crack doesnt seem to go very deep. Great work again.

I've seen some people complaining about nude girls's figures people post in this gallery. They usually point 2 things. 1. Is a "low" subject; 2. It's not "art". Well, we are on 21st century.. I believe mankind have had time enough on this planet to assimilate they have a body, and this body is a normal thing to see, like you see a face, a hand. I can't understand what's low in a naked woman or man... It's a regular subject, as any other. So what's wrong with it? People don't like to assume they feel sexual desire for a woman? Is it something "wrong" or "low"? I really can't understand. About not being art, well, most of all are illustrators, not necesssarily artists. If someone wants to see art, go to art galleries, buy books with works of masters as Michelanglo and Da Vinci. And let regular illustrators alone to represent their favorite subjects on their illustrations, without compromise with "art".

I want to clarify this is not a personal attack for anybody, just my thoughts. Of course there's a lot of people that desagree. But I wanted to say my opinion.

Anyway, what's important here aren't personal opinions about social issues, but about work. You did pretty well, HighWay. But as culpin said above, it's looking a single mass by now. You should have creased the line between her buttocks. They are doing a smooth transition, what's not normal. The same thing below the buttocks, between them and the legs. Too smooth, you could improve this. The water effect is working pretty well. Very good work.

In many cultures, yes. You can see this in movies, for example. But in fact, almost everybody has this kind of reaction in front of a nude body. Even in countries like Brazil, where I live and where you see people with few clothes everywhere. I'm not sure but in posting rules of CGTalk they warn us to label threads like this one with "nudity", so people are warned of contents and don't enter to see if is offensive to them. I think HighWay should have made this to avoid problems.

And about nudity not being art, I always considered art to be an expressing of ones thoughts and feels aswell as what one might find astecticly pleasing.
