Hi
Hmm, i dont feel worthy to post my work among so many great works, but i want to learn so i guess this is the only way.

I wanted to do something that imitated the soviet propaganda style. This is what i have got so far...but im stuck.:annoyed:
Any comments would be MOST appreciated.
Thanks

Oh and if anyone knows Russian can they tell me if the slogan makes sense.

try making the red a little darker... and maybe ad a layer in photoshop of dirt texture so it will grunge it up a bit... the composition is good... but needs something more... remember that russian propaganda used many sharp angles in regards to the composition, try doing a search for source images on google...

its just so crisp in its grunginess. try roughing those germans up. Make it look low quality but not smudgey kinda. Im BAD at shotophop and the like, I cant tell a layer from an air brush so i just stick to simple banners and desiging stuff in max. So it works for making text nd adding filters with me, hehe. I like your picture though, but something needs to get messy. Maybe some edges need to be softer. Not blurry though. It's up to you. And the red could make be rougher? Your choice, its looking cool though,

it's a good start... but doesn't really look like a soviet propaganda poster (i'm sorry)
first of all, try to fond some material to reffer to.
I got more than 500 on my HD... so if u need some reference...

your main problem i think is the color, u should try some colors, like red (a more orange like red), some chestnut color, and stuff like this. U had to remember that on this time they mainly used old colors (they were in an industrial crisis) so try some colors of the pics i'm attaching.

your background seems strange, too empty i think

hope i've helped u.

Hello! Just a little correction, it should say "Vpered k pobede" instead of "Vpered v pobedu" (grammar thing)

I'd also put helmets on the soldiers or maybe hair.

Good job!

cool. Have you ever done research into real russian propaganda? I know right after the fall of the czars, a lot of their propoganda didn't have text, because most russians couldn't read. Made for some interesting stuff, but never really got to the public. yours is looking good... (what does the text say?)

Thanks for all the replies.

Anton980: Thanks very much for the grammar correction.

oracrest: I studied the Russian revn last year, but i havent really studied the propaganda. The text says "onward to victory" and the poster is set during WWII.
