View Full Version : Making a 360degrees spining globe and making it flatten out after 2spinns?

Hey guys,

I`m wondering if this is possible to do in 3dsmax. What I want to do is make a sphere in 3dsmax and add a wolrd map on it, make it spinn 360 degrees 2-3times and then when its making its final spin make it to flatten out and become a flat world map instaed of beeing maped on a sphere, and i need to make it looks good, like smooth, no fade in tricks and so on..

I got some clues from other friends, "Try using a Box and the Spherify modifier. With Spherify at 100%, it's the Globe, and when you want it to turn into a world map, decrease the Spherify amount to 0, and change UVW mapping from Sphere to Plane. It takes some tweaking, but if you play around with these, you could get a similar effect."

So I`m testing this, but i would like more ideas if anyone comes up with any.
