I really like the aliens and predators movies and style. I made her in 3ds Max and the postproductions're in Photoshop.
I inspired by Boris Valejo style.

Nice I dig it. Tho it would've been better served to have this against another bg besides white. And the image is dead center, which isn't doing the little compostion the piece has justice. The model is great tho. Have any wires?
You used a different pic for your thumbnail, can we see that also?
Cheers~

Cool character! Looks like she has a little Harry Potter thing going on, on her forehead. I'm curious about the small spinal cord hanging off her back. Do you have a back view of the character? I was just curious how you fit that in to her ensemble.

wow. It´s really great. She reminds me from something about the stargate series. Clothing and armour is incredible too. Look the armour is mobile, with so many parts. Her hair is very well done, I love it. And that mark of the tummy... great too.
Congratulations Denisa, keep on with your great work.
looks good, but can we see some wires?there are many disturbing parts and i like to know if it is fake or not..black or 50%grey will look much more better..

MASSIVE IMPRESSIVE
That's how we call such work over here!
Wow... very nice. She has a great expression and you have so much detail. I would have loved to see a render with the finished background. Still I think this piece has potential for a choice award! Congrats, great job.

great, your modeling skill is outstanding, keep it up ;)
well.. do you see me slobber? after studying these wires there's no reason to renounce.. this is just awesome work
I'm not much into character criticism but this is just masterpiece and I'd like to say it loud, well deserved 5 stars.. I can see a lot of work there, especially wires are perfect, there's a lot of mood in this picture and that's the point of final results - to feel anything.
I really like this picture, from facial expression through materials and details to the final color balance and the whole lighting..
once again, really really great image! thank you for sharing your work with us.

I am not really in character modeling/design, but here I just have to say 5stars ... I would really finish an eviroment for her and play with the shot itself - the center composition of herself is OK to show the character but to create a mood you need an enviroment incorporate a bit.
Keep up the great work.

Hi Denisa, its great to see her finished, though I love this "boris" style you could post those realistic renderings I saw some time before..
and maybe think of posting some of your other images, as I think they are as good as this one, so why not to share them with others?
btw -hope to see some making of soon..

when i saw this pic i was like, no f****n way!! It is the BOMB!!!
then i saw the wireframe and I haven't stopped wonderin' how you managed to start from nothing and create a piece that is so friggin' awesome! I loved the pieces you did of the snowboarding chick as well but this is krazy. You are definitely on your way to a choice award!

Good job !...the accessories and overall feel is from the predator universe for sure, i just think that maybe it could be even more interesting if the female anatomy would introduce some alien elements to characterize her even more !
Keep going!

Excellent work.
Only comments would be, the bottom of her ribcage looks a bit narrow for a warrior, and I think I see a space in the armpit, where actually the arm should touch the chest.
I love the skin, the net, the lips.

Hmmm, could it be a misprint in the CM2 book? FIG - if you don't have the book in front of you, how do you know the image is attributed to Kevin Lannings? A quick search on his name yields no versions of the "Princess Predator" image. Seems a pretty big accusation for not being able to verify until later.
"Princess Predator" is all over the web under the name "Denisa Mrackova". She also has several IMDB VFX credits and a portfolio of various other 2D & 3D works. Odd, though, that her wireframe post is missing the wireframe. Maybe the image host disappeared since this was posted a year and a half ago, who knows.

That'd be awesome 3-D work IF IT WAS YOUR OWN ORIGINAL WORK. Coincidentally, IT IS NOT. I own d'artiste: Character Modeling 2 and this is Kevin Lannings according to the book so you are ripping him off and passing his own hard work as your own. Thats known as plagiarism. Go to this link and its a few pages IN (probably page 67 or so) using the preview.
http://www.ballisticpublishing.com/books/dartiste/character_modeling_2/ (http://www.ballisticpublishing.com/books/dartiste/character_modeling_2/)
I cannot have respect for a plagarising facade of a human being. Hopefully someone gets reprimanded for doing this because there is no place here or otherwise for people who are fake. Infact, I'd say that you are violating the terms of service by posting someone elses work and passing it off as your own if this is not indeed your own work. Now saying this, I see this was submitted early in October of 2006 so now there is a question of ownership.
SO either I am wrong and he ripped you off or you ripped him off unless this is some sort of collaboration I am not aware of since I dont have the book in front of me and can't read it at the moment since I am at work. At any rate, lets hope I am wrong and this is all a silly misunderstanding. I will be back with the exact page number of the book later tonight after I get off work.
Fig, before you go calling people theifs and complaining about how they ripped people off, you should have a source. You said D'Artiste, (which I have here), she is credited,Kevin Lanning just comments on how it kicks ass...which it does, great job Denisa!
for the record,
DENISA DID THIS WORK, at least so far as the book, and her wireframes show :)
No more witch hunting ok people? if you see something shady, PLEASE let us mods know, but if you just call someone out, it may turn out you are wrong, and you will look silly.
On with the critiques/praise for this damn cool image.

Artbot and KingMob, I totally agree. I was totally off base and went overboard and I would like to extend a sincere apology to both parties(Denisa and Kevin Lanning). If I had the book in front of me here at work, I would have corrected myself and not even had made the post. I believe feeling so strongly against plagiarism got the best of me thinking one of my favorite artists was being copied. Denisa, I think this goes without saying that you are an extraordinary talent and your 3D skills are very inspiring. In the future, I will check my facts before making sweeping accusations. Thanks for setting me straight guys, I admit to my mistake. Furthermore, I hope to one day reach the level of skill that Denisa possess with 3D software. Awesome work. oH and KingMob, your portfolio is one of my favorites. Awesome Wolverine. There is so much talent here it is both humbling and inspiring.
