View Full Version : Penumbra and Omni Lights?
You can select penumbra for Omni's, but in the docs on penumbra it says to use a Klieg. In my working with penumbra and Omni's in v10d I haven't had much luck. Just real dark renders.

My first experience with penumbra was similar to yours. When I added another light to the scene things started looking better. After many combintions for test lighting I found a 4 light setup that sort of works. Various small tweeks to environment and fill lights can produce unexpected results. Quick renders can vary slightly from final rendering.

You are right. The bulb lights do offer a non-funtioning penmubra setting. Appears to be an honest oversight.
The jiggly shadows on the above image were created using a klieg light as the main, two dark colored bulbs and one sun light for a bounce.
