Very good !!!
only one critic, (or suggestion), maybe you can add some wind effect, like motion in the flag.
I hope to see more soon!

first thx for the posts :)

yes, good idea, the original scene (from "reign of fire") has small mountains in the background :))

its raining but everything seems so dry
well, there is a newer version with reflections, but cinema4d is still working, 6 hours up to now, and it does not look really good ;))

maybe you can add some wind effect, like motion in the flag.
jepp that was the plan :))

man this look downright drizzling? :) it looks great but maybe u can add more light towards where the lightning is striking and the flag should be waving since it's windy and all but that might just be me

Great texture, sorry I don't have any suggestions it's just too good

That's incredible! It looks almost photoreal.

Because this scene looks so incredible - I feel the need to go all out with crits that I feel would make it perfect (moreso :p)

Like Terminator said, have some fun with the light from the lightning bolt. Personally, I'd put some lighting from the lightning bolts on the undersides of the nearby clouds (like a small highlight at the left side of the dark patch of cloud directly above where the staircase changes direction in the middle, and maybe a little bit of highlighting on the clouds further behind where the lightning comes out from the clouds). Maybe have some highlights on the metal pipes too?

For the raindrops, I'd add 1.5 times as many and make the drops half the size. Maybe also make them just a bit more shiny (not too much, just a bit of subtle highlighting like what I suggested earlier in this post with the clouds).

As for texturing - the shed looks a little flat, sort of like it was done with pastels - maybe a little variation in the colour (I don't really know - it just looks kind of 'off' in comparison to everything else). Also, I'd add a bit more grunge to the texture for the metal pipes just so they'd fit in with the dirty look of the rest of the scene.

Hope those suggestions were helpful :)

This is spectacular work - please keep updating! :wip: :buttrock:

You need to darken some of the metal surfaces to make them look wet and add specularity. Keep it up!

I think the drops of water are a bit too sharp in the last picture. Make them a little more fuzzy. And maybe som blur and fog on the background. Otherwise its just great!

This scene is really good. The atmosphere is well done. Like the feeling of depth adding the mountains give.

Some suggestions for improvement: -

I like the steam effect in the bottom left near the vent looking thing. Also like the lighting effect you added in the tower - makes the lantern look more realistic. Keep the flag how it is. From the angle of the rain and the clearing of the sky it looks like the storm is dying down (though the windmill looks like it's spinning?) the water droplets need to be smaller though, also add highlights to them, look too dull right now - just off.

Again,

Looks great, only things to crit are details;)
- lightning should be white - it's a very strong lightsource, even covered with some fog
- raindrops seem to fall only in foreground, I don't see any in background, on the roof or pipes, or this stone wall.
- maybe add some water dripping fron the roof
- in same places metal could be more shiny

- this one might be a bit too much, but if this storm is passing, maybe add some streak of warm, yellow-orange light from the right? My favourite moment of the storm is when it ends and there is rain, stormclouds, little of wind an sun passing through the clouds giving everything strange feeling ;). That does not happen too often, usually it's gradually passing. It's cool already, don't change much if You don't want.

I think you've got a really great image and i love the texturing and lighting but i'm not keen on the rain drops on the ground. i think the drops in the previous post are better.

well it is the same image, but the last one is a quick render without AA ... sorry for that :) it takes up to 3 hours in "good quality" ;)

or which previous post do you mean?

I really like your work, very impressive.
no critique, only one is emphasis some reflection, to show a rainning day, reflection is very important element in the image. just my personal thinking. good job.

looks great! The texturing/lighitng is very good.

The raindrops seem to need some work. They seem much to big, and most surfaces don't accumulate beeded rain (as the raindrops suggest) and the splashes are not that big unless they are some huge raindrops.

Awesome:thumbsup:

But wouldn't a character ruin it??? Maybe it's just me, but I think it stands up perfectly well on its own. - Plus it would kind of ruin the idea of what the history of the scene is in the viewers mind if they saw a human there.
I think it's cool as it is - you don't know if it's abandoned (except for the steam - which causes the viewer's imagination to start guessing ), you don't really know what the tower's there for, etc - the viewer gets to imagine what its purpose is.

That's my 0.02 cents

my only crit is the lightning, it seems too perfectly placed. i would move it so that it is sticking out from the building or something.

also, you might want to tweak your lighting, it doesnt seem to be coming from either the sun, or the lightning.

overall great job though!:applause:

Awesome work! It's great to see how you've taken each suggestion from those in the "know" and made it even better...which I didn't think was possible.Cool to see this forum in action. Just 1 question, during such a rain wouldn't there be puddles or water running down from sloped surfaces?
