Hello

This has been my first ever attempt as digital painting. I spent hours on this, and I may just keep it as it is because it was only a simple test.
I was never able to paint at school because of my colour blindness, but I think that fantasy art would allow me to use that to my advantage by using colours that are blatantly and deliberately "not correct."
As I said this was only a test to see how far I could have gone with this image.
I will be starting my newest image today based upon Digital Painting again as I enjoyed creating this one.

Please give critisism!! :)

This is somehow mixing some Sci-fi theme with some surrealism.. it's cool! Though, I think the composition is not the best. Try not to place the girl in the middle of the scene, cause then you have the moon and the comet in front of her, but in the back there's a big blank that's not very nice. I'd venture to say it would work better with a vertical format, with the girl on the left, and the moon some higher... almost in the upper right corner. You should try and see how it works better.
Then, a technicality... if the moon is being illuminated from the bottom right, it means that's where the sun is... therefore, the comet's tail should be pointing in the same direction... Cause solar wind causes it.. but that's a minor issue. hahah :D
I will not talk about colors, but I think you could use some more shades of blue and grey for the background, and also vary a little that texture you used... it looks a bit repetitive and I frankly can't tell what is it... stone? mist? or some alien kinda plasma? :hmm: you tell me.. =P
It's a great concept. I'd love to see it finished =)

Hello!!

Thank you for that ctritisism. The comet tail I never thought about lol :) I will have to change that, also the texture is supposed to be a mist...but hasn't turned out very well yet, I am having some difficulty with backgrounds and foregrounds. I see what you mean about the positioning of the figure, I will move her! :D

Thank you for your input it has been a great deal of help :D
