Aloha!
My friend sais that there is a filter in 3ds max that makes the rendering sharper, is there a simular setting/plugin/filter for maya? It would be really nice =)

Thx in advance! =)

Are you using regular Maya renderer or Mental Ray?....In regular Maya renderer I use Quadratic B-spline Filter in Multipixel Filtering.
In Mental Ray I use Lanczos, but it's little too sharp so I use Mitchell in Sampling Quality.

Hi again!

I've tryed to change to Quadric B-spline, but I can't see no changes =/, is there something else I have to do to get it to work? Or is it just so small changes that I don't notice?

If you turn off the multipixel filter is it still not crisp like you want? You might need to turn down the filter on your texture maps.

Thx beaker, I'll try that =)

In the antialiasing quality, change the MultiPixel Filtering to something a little lower too, such as X and Y being changed to 1.7 and 1.7 respectively, this, I've foun in some of my renders has produced a much sharper looking image, also, play around the with the filtering on your textures too, I don't have any filtering switched on for stills for instance.
