Hi.
I have a little question to you.
I work for some years in 3D and i want to learn the art of 2D. In the past as a children i draw really often but now i can`t draw much.
The biggest problem i have is to draw shadows and highlights on a picture. But this is the different betwenn a simpel "strokeman" picture and the great pictures from this forum.
My problem is, that i`m not at a drawing school or have some friends who can paint something like this. Now i need a little bit help how i can learn t unterstand to draw right witsch shadows etc.
Which is the best way to learn drawing? How do you learn and understand it? I hope someone can give me some tips.

And sorry for my bad english but i hope you can understand me...

Practice, practice, and practice some more, that's the way to do it. Additionally, this forum has an insane amount of resources to help you, take a look at them; It's definitely worth your time.

I have draw the first three pictures from drawspace.com. Its hard to get the right symetrie or draw a round circle.
I think i repaint this pictures tomorrow again to get a better feeling for this basic shapes.

But now i have a little question about a wacom. If a draw a circle on a paper i rote this really often to get a round shape. With a wacom i think i can`t do this. How i handel this? Rotate i the wacom or the "paper" in photoshop. How do you draw a circle with a wacom?

The shadding is a really problem with only one pensil. I think i draw the next time basic pictures to get the right feeling. After this i think i buy a wacom to color the picture easier than i must buy a lot of pensils etc.

What do you think?
