Hi, I've got a really basic model with a skeleton made out of bones in 3ds Max 4. I applied the Skin Modifier to it and then adjusted the envelopes.

The skin bends reasonably well and no verticies get left behind but I was wondering if there is a better way to apply the envelopes or whatever to get a nicer bend at the elbows and knees.

Below is an example of the arm 1. then bent up 2. with the bending of the skin that's happening where as I want it to look more like 3.

Okay that's it really thanks for reading, can you help me?

can you post a screen capture of the envelopes for both the forearm and bicep bones? I don't think you have them assigned properly... so just get a screen capture showing the influence of the envelopes as forementioned

No it's cool now, you were right. I hadn't ever tried envelopes and stuff so this was my first go. I adjusted them loads and I seem to have a better effect.

Would it be possible for you yo put an example up of how you'd do it so I can see if it's better than mine or not??

Thanks for replying.
