View Full Version : Blend Shape Help!

Now, can anyone tell me the correct way to connect your blend shapes to a characters face. It works correctly until I move the characters body. The Head takes on the correct shape but it translates to the blend shape positions. I've disconnected and redone all of the blend shapes twice already and it still does the same thing.

Can anyone just tell me a few steps on how to connect my blend shapes to my characters face?

Sounds like you are using Maya and have the order of inputs wrong on the head. Right Click on the head and go to inputs then all inputs. To read the list, is by bottom up. The skinCluster should be last on the list.

This is how the list should look provided their is no other history besides the skin and blendShpaes.
Order of Inputs:
SkinCluster1
blendShape1
tweak1

If the list looks like:
Order of Inputs:
blendShape1
SkinCluster1
tweak1

Then the skinCluster is going to move the character before the blendShapes does it things. Causing the verts to be in a new position based off the rig and will move the head back to default.

Use MMB to rearrange the list.
