View Full Version : How do I change a bone's rotation without effecting it's children?

Hello followers of this Messiah.

I'm new to Messiah, my main app being Animation Master. I felt it was time to have a go at animating polygons for a change. I've been following Joe's tutorials, which has got me up to speed real quick.

Anyhow, I do have a question to ask. I need to roll my character's clavicle bone in setup so that the Y axis is pointing up, trouble is I've already rigged the rest of the arm and when I twist the clavicle bone of course the rest of the arm rotates too. Is there a way to confine this adjustment to just this bone?

Thanks in advance.

Stephen.

Think you could use "unparent in place" on the bone parented to the clavicle...rotate the
clavicle then use "parent in place" to put your bones back in the same heirarchy. That
should work.
Parenting commands in Setup under items tab....parent items.
