Tranfering files

I don't use Maya, but I'd have thought it was backwards compatible to a degree? Can't you just open the file in Maya 7?

Otherwise you could try exporting it in several different formats and try importing them in version 7.

if it's the same as getting files from 7 to 8 you need to:

open file in notepad
there should be four version numbers within the first few lines of text
change from 8 to 7
save file
open in 7

Thanks, opening it in worpad and changing the 8 to 7 worked well.
