View Full Version : inverting normals in viewport?
JasonA 02-06-2003, 06:45 PM I have a couple of models that seem to have gotten corrupted or something recently. on a few parts of the model (its a polygon model btw), the surface normals have gotten inverted. Strange thing is, it renders just fine, but looks messed up in the viewport and makes it hard to select things on those surfaces.
Does anyone know what caused this and how to fix it?

maya has 2 sided surfaces on by default.. that is the reason why the rendering most times looks ok, when you have reversed normals..
no idea what causes it.. i encountered the problem a lot when importing geometry in .obj format.
