http://www.evoluent.biz/ it seems to be the most natural approach to a computer! I hope other companies will start making vertical mice too

looks good to me, it would kinda be like using a tablet, only more ergo :)

it is more of a relaxed position.....better for the fight against carpal!

i would thing this would hurt more...

if i'm sitting at a table, relaxed, my hand would be palm down, not upright [like how it shows], try it yourself.

but to use this mouse, you still would have to move your wrist the same way as using a regular mouse. the problem is not the mouse angle, but the fact people don't use there whole are to move the mouse, something an Ergo Rest solves...

i have been using one since 2000 and had 0 pain or "tinggly" feeling in my wrist/arm. just my thought

First of all, this mice looks very funny ;) .
After having trouble with my arm and hand I gave a trackball a try, but this didn't work well for me ... maybe that funny mice.

A couple of guys on my team use this (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,67176,00.asp) from 3M. It is the same idea, but it is more of a joystick shape. It doesn't move like a joystick; you have to move your whole arm.

It has L/R mouse buttons on the thumb and MMB on the front of the stick. I liked it but it's hard to be precise with your whole arm, instead of your fingers/wrist.

[edit:] Here is a better link: 3M Ergo Mouse (http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/en001/office/computer_workstation/node_GSNG558FYWbe/root_GST1T4S9TCgv/vroot_GSVFQG1Y9Fge/gvel_SGJ62MP1RBgl/theme_us_computerworkstation_3_0/command_AbcPageHandler/output_html)

That's a little too phallic for me. If you going to grip it, you might as use the real thing and enjoy it. :scream:  :surprised

I recieved evoluent ergo-mouse today.

Getting used to it takes 10 minutes after that its no different than using a regular mouse minus the wriststrain.

I highly recommend it to those who have wrist pains.

Mouse like this one from logitech never convinced me, but well, let's give it a try !

Anyway :
"The Evoluent™ VerticalMouse™ has a patented
new shape that supports your hand in a relaxed handshake position, and eliminates the arm twisting required by ordinary mice. It is a major advance in mouse evolution! "
(quoted from their page)

Patents is definitely the new way of life. That sux ...

Button 3 looks kind of awkward to reach. Is it?
Are you using button 5 as a browser-back button?
Which fingers are on which buttons?
