Hi,

I am trying to calculate angles between objects with the Dot Product Node in Xpresso, this all works fine until one of the objects is at 0,0,0 and gives an calculation error.
I know how to calculate the angles the hard way with math nodes ect., but this also gives me the same error when one of the objects is at 0,0,0.

Could someone explain me why this is and if there’s a way around it…

Kind Regards,

frank.

Hi,
have a look at the definition of the dot product
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dot_product

If you have one vector with a length of 0 it simply does not work. You are trying to calculate the angle between vectors and if one vector has a length of zero, there is no definable angle.
