Position: Environment Artist
The Environment Artist will conceptualize, model, texture and light game environments meeting aesthetic, creative and technical high quality. The successful candidate has a strong understanding of 2D and 3D applications, and significant knowledge of art fundamentals.
Responsibilities:
· Creation of environment assets (3D modeling and texturing).
· Complete tasks aligned with project needs and milestones.
· Contribute to project planning and schedules.
· Develop and escalate ongoing feedback and debugging for improvements of process and tools.
· Mentor other Environment Artists in best practices/processes.
· Display a sense of creativity and take ownership of work.
Required Skills & Abilities:
· 2+ year’s previous experience in environment art creation (modeling and texturing) within gaming or related industry.
· Solid understanding of the production/development cycle.
· Excellent knowledge in 3D software packages (3DSMax experience a plus, but not a pre-requisite)
· Excellent knowledge of 2D photo manipulation and painting software (i.e. Photoshop)
· Curiosity, resourceful and ability to learn new software/skills quickly.
· Versatility and adaptability to changing environments.
· Display a sense of creativity and take ownership of work.
· Open to feedback and constructive evaluation from peers.
· Driven and highly motivated to be the best.
· Proven ability to work independently and problem solve.
Desirable:
· Degree/diploma/certificate or demonstrated skills in art discipline.
· Genuine enthusiasm and interest in playing and creating video games.
· Experience in cross-platform development.
· A minimum of two shipped game titles also highly desirable.
