Do you just want to change the pivot point because all you do to do that is hit insert and move the little objec like it was the move tool and that is where it will move from

ok,
thats my problem.
Have a look on the picture.
This is a normal camera from the backside.
During the animation its transformed. Now I wish to rotate it along the original blue axis. But on the picture you can see the stupid manipulators. So I need the default axis

I hope my problem is clearer now.

thanx for help

Looks like the local rotation axis got messed up...
you can go into component mode F8, and pick mask the
' ? ' select the axis and adjust it back, then hit F8 again..
but if you have any keys on the camera it'll screw them up.

you can also go to a point in time before your keys ... say
frame -1 and go Modify>reset transformations. that'll put the cam back to the origin , fix the manipulator, and keep your later keys.
unfortunately if you set any keys while the manipulator was messed up the motion wont be the same.
hope that helps a little.

I can't realy help you With your current problem 'cause I ran across that problem many times... and for me, my best solution was to create a cam rig were i would seperate the Trans from the Rotates!!!

As for your current problem, you could try to group your cam, center the pivot of the group and continue animating with the group!!!!

here is an example of the cam rig:
