Okay I was trying a new method to modeling a car, and I was going through this tutorial...but the problem is he doesn't explain that well. Maybe someone more experienced from here could help?

http://www.3dm3.com/tutorials/car/

The first like 3 steps I do not understand.
Does he draw the splines all at one time somehow? or does he do left, then top, the front?

Or how does he do this? Then he suddenly has it filled in and then seriously has it like a full mold of it...So confused.
Anyone can explain? Thanks :D

Well, first he made all the major outline for the car with splines. You can do it all at one time or you can do each pieces individually. Then you apply a surface modifier to the splines. It will surface any splines that has 4 edges.

But his was 3d and perfectly in the spots?...and how did he add more splines too areas?

its chopped, he just starts new splines exactly on other ones. 'spline tactics' are sweet. check out your options in c4d. lofting, 4 sided, etc. then adjust splines, not the mesh, until you are really happy, then freeze or whatever the equal is in c4d and do details. not sure if that helps, but i do know he doesnt have one massive spline. use symmetry for your splines too, so each side is perfect. when you can understand the lofts and spline-to-mesh options, then u will know better where to draw and setup your splines. i know c4d and use it daily but i use it to model ; (

he's using max, so i guess you are too, so nm about the c4d biz.
