View Full Version : cylindrical unwrapping for head ; problem

When I use the cylindrical unwrap for the human head the top faces of the human are missed in the uvw unwrap dialog. How to map the top of the head by using clylindrical unwrapping.

I prefer to map the top of the head seperately with a planar map. Then you can weld both pieces together. :)

Maybe you have to paint a mask to avoid seams on the sides and the back! :p

I have a question that I think you can help me :

How you paint the top of the head with textures when you seperate and then weld it ???( for perfect texturing )
(with textures,Not with colors)

because I can just Do it with 3d Painter softwars, I want to know how you do this only with photoshop and your 3d packeg without 3d painter softwars ?!?

Use a 3d painter! Takes a lot longer with just Photoshop and a 3D program, but can be done. Paint a little, save, reload in the 3d app, etc. You could try Ghostpainter maybe.
